In overtime, the San Francisco 49ers suffered a devastating defeat that cost them the Super Bowl. The Niners were particularly hurt because of their opponents as it was only the second Super Bowl to be won in overtime. Additionally, defensive end Nick Bosa has made a clear statement about the same!
In multiple scenes in the play, the Niners were in the lead. The Niners took the lead early in overtime and won their sixth Super Bowl. They were unable to hold it against the Kansas City Chiefs, though. And DE Bosa makes a statement that the supporters and the league as a whole may be considering!
The last time the Niners won the Lombardi Trophy was in 1995. They have since made three trips to the Super Bowl, where they were defeated by the Chiefs in 2020 and 2024 and the Baltimore Ravens in 2013. It appears like the Niners must defeat the Chiefs in order to win the elusive sixth Super Bowl. Bosa concurs as well!
The Niners have let the Chiefs take the lead and ultimately win the Super Bowl twice. Bosa was asked about the Niners’ need to defeat the Chiefs in order to win the Lombardi Trophy. The DE was in agreement.
