The Pittsburgh Steelers’ defense was hurt in their first playoff game when cornerback Joey Porter Jr. got injured getting hurt in the head during the second half of a game against the Buffalo Bills.

Porter got knocked down by a Bills player during a pass in the third quarter. Porter fell on the ground and was in a lot of pain. He was moving around and it was clear that he was hurt. He could walk by himself after being checked on the field.

Porter was taken to the medical tent, where trainers continued to look at him. He was then escorted to the locker room.

Without Porter, the Steelers will turn to Patrick Peterson and Levi Wallace at cornerback, with James Pierre as their only backup outside option. Chandon Sullivan, who primarily plays in the slot, also has experience playing on the outside.

All Steelers will continue to provide updates to Porter’s injury as more information becomes available.
