Cowboys Injury Update: Stephon Gilmore, a free agent, leads a trio that requires surgery
LAS VEGAS: Three Dallas Cowboys who are preparing to try again in 2024 are going through surgery and come into the offseason a little bruised.
Following the disappointing playoff defeat to Green Bay, three Cowboys players—cornerback Stephon Gilmore, tight end Peyton Hendershot, and offensive lineman T.J. Bass—had surgery. Gilmore is the main focus for two reasons.
Hendershot and Bass, as first reported by ESPN, should be prepared to fully engage in The Star’s offseason program. Gilmore, on the other hand, will likely need four to six months to heal before making his comeback, ideally in time for training camp.
In addition, Gilmore, who turns 34 in September, is set to hit free agency while Hendershot and Bass are still under contract. Even though he started in his one season in Dallas following the shrewd deal that sent him to the Cowboys from the Colts a year prior, his age and the injury cast some doubt on his ability to stay in this city.
