Judiciary Report: Warbrick, Trindall charged; Leniu pleads guilty……
Storm winger Will Warbrick and Sharks playmaker Braydon Trindall are facing fines after being charged with Careless High Tackles on Friday night.
Warbrick received a Grade 1 charge for his high shot on Panthers winger Sunia Turuva and can accept a $1000 fine with an early guilty plea, increasing to $1500 should he contest the charge and be unsuccessful at the judiciary.
Trindall was also hit with a Grade 1 Careless High Tackle charge for an incident involving Dallin Watene-Zelezniak. He also faces a $1000 fine with an early guilty plea.
Meanwhile, Raiders duo Hudson Young and Emre Guler have been charged following Thursday night’s win over the Knights.
Young faces a $750 fine if he accepts an early guilty plea to a Grade 1 Dangerous Contact charge for an incident involving Kalyn Ponga.
Guler will be fined $1000 if he enters an early guilty plea to a Grade 1 Dangerous Contact charge for a hip drop tackle on Dylan Lucas in the 30th minute.
Roosters forward Spencer Leniu has entered an early guilty plea to the contrary conduct charge he received after being accused of a racial slur against Broncos five-eighth Ezra Mam.
Leniu was referred straight to the NRL Judiciary over the incident with the.
saying that Leniu would plead guilty to the charge.
“I want to apologise to Ezra and his family for using the word I did and I am sincerely sorry to cause him such distress,” Leniu said.
“I’ve put my hand up and want to take ownership of this. I said the word but I didn’t mean it in a racist way. Anyone who knows me knows that’s not who I am.”
The incident occurred in the 69th minute of the clash at Allegiant Stadium, with referee Adam Gee placing Leniu on report after Mam made the allegation against the Roosters prop.
Leniu was subsequently charged with Contrary Conduct. His case will be heard at the NRL Judiciary at 6.15pm on Monday night.
