Utah Jazz Sign Two Former Sixers

Utah Jazz Sign Two Former Sixers……

The Utah Jazz have reportedly inked two former Philadelphia 76ers.

Throughout the year, the Philadelphia 76ers have had a handful of two-way players come and go. On Monday afternoon, news emerged that a pair of standouts from their G-League squad have been signed to multi-year deals.

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported that both Kenny Lofton Jr. and Darius Bazley have signed deals with the Utah Jazz. Both players signed three-year deals that are non-guarantee.

Lofton began the year with the Memphis Grizzlies, but was waived in December. Just before Christmas, the Sixers picked him up on a two-way deal. However, he’d appear in just two games before being waived at the beginning of March.

Bazley spent most of the season with the Delaware Blue Coats but was called up following the All-Star break. The Sixers signed him to a 10-day contract to help soften the blow of their injury woes. He’d play in just three games before locking up a deal with the Jazz.

For Bazley, this is a chance to carve out a role for himself again at the NBA level. Before winding up with the Blue Coats, the former first-round pick was a rotation player for years with the OKC Thunder. He was eventually traded to the Phoenix Suns, where he saw his playing time dwindle.

With the Jazz being in the early stages of a rebuild, they are looking to bring in as much young talent as they can. Lofton is a former G-League Rookie of the Year, and shown nice flashes. Meanwhile, Bazley has shown in the past he’s capable of playing everyday.
