Yankees finally offer €68.5 million today …
It’s believed that New York Yankees ace Gerrit Cole will miss the first one-two months of the season.
While uncertain of the exact timetable, that’s better than what the Yankees could’ve had on their hands.
If Cole was out for the entire year, this season would be much tougher than it already would’ve been.
Instead, there’s hope that he can return.
Bob Nightengale of USA Today reported that New York proposed a trade to the Chicago White Sox for ace Dylan Cease.
However, he was traded to the San Diego Padres on Wednesday night.
Hopefully, with them already in the mix for an arm, that’s the front office looking to get better and understanding that, even when healthy, an arm like Shane Bieber helps them win now when Cole becomes available.
Even if Bieber was here to fill the void as the ace for a month or two while Cole recovers, that’d be a win for the Yankees at this point.
