In August 2024, Shelton Henderson, a 6-foot-6 small forward from Bellaire High School in Texas, announced his top six college choices: Duke, Houston, Louisville, LSU, Texas, and Texas Tech. By October, he had narrowed his list to three finalists: Duke, Louisville, and Texas.
Henderson scheduled official visits to each of his top choices, including a visit to Duke during the weekend of October 4, 2024. During his visit to Duke, Henderson engaged with head coach Jon Scheyer and assistant coach Jai Lucas, who outlined how Henderson could contribute to the Blue Devils’ program.
On November 2, 2024, Henderson committed to Duke, joining an impressive 2025 recruiting class that includes Cameron and Cayden Boozer, as well as Nikolas Khamenia. Henderson’s commitment bolstered Duke’s already strong recruiting efforts, positioning the team for future success.
