Breaking News: Ole Miss Appoints American Football Legend Deuce McAllister as New Assistant General Manager………….

Oxford, Miss. — A beloved Rebel is coming home. Ole Miss has officially appointed former American football great and Ole Miss icon Deuce McAllister as the new Assistant General Manager of its football program—marking a powerful and heartfelt reunion between the university and one of its most cherished legends.

McAllister, who starred at Ole Miss from 1997 to 2000 before an illustrious NFL career with the New Orleans Saints, returns not just as a symbol of the program’s proud past, but as a key architect of its future. Known for his grit, humility, and leadership on and off the field, McAllister brings unmatched experience and deep-rooted passion to the Rebel family.

“This place made me who I am,” McAllister shared. “To come back in this way—to help guide and grow the next generation of Rebels—is a full-circle blessing.”

In his new role, McAllister will serve as a bridge between tradition and ambition. Working alongside Head Coach Lane Kiffin and General Manager Billy Glasscock, he’ll help shape the program’s recruiting vision, strengthen alumni ties, and support the development of young athletes in a meaningful way.

The move has been met with wide praise across the Ole Miss community. Athletic Director Keith Carter called the hire “a win in every way,” adding, “Deuce isn’t just a name in the record books—he’s the heartbeat of Ole Miss football. Having him back inside the program brings energy, experience, and undeniable authenticity.”

Fans are celebrating not only the return of a Rebel great, but the spirit he represents: loyalty, excellence, and a deep love for Ole Miss.

McAllister’s presence is expected to inspire current players and elevate the program’s national profile. More than a hire, his return feels like a homecoming long overdue.

And as the Rebels look toward a promising season ahead, there’s a new sense of excitement in the air—because now, they’ve got Deuce back where he belongs.
