MORGANTOWN — Netflix has officially announced the release of its latest music documentary titled “The Underdog,” a deeply personal and revealing portrait of Paul McCartney, one of the most influential musicians in history and a defining member of the Beatles. The documentary is set to premiere on August 16, 2025, exclusively on Netflix.
“The Underdog” promises to deliver a never-before-seen exploration into McCartney’s early career, his struggles for recognition during the Beatles’ formative years, and his eventual rise to global superstardom. Unlike other documentaries that focus on the Beatles as a collective, this film shines a light on McCartney’s individual path—detailing how he evolved from being a relatively modest figure in Liverpool’s music scene to becoming one of the most iconic songwriters of all time.
