Leicester City’s Owners, King Power Company and Chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha have announced the official expansion of KING POWER STADIUM from 32,000 to 52,000 seats. This bold project, estimated at around $200m, is scheduled to commence in………….

Leicester City Football Club has officially unveiled a monumental project that promises to transform its home ground and strengthen its position among the Premier League’s elite. The club’s owners, King Power International Group, along with Chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha, have confirmed the long-anticipated expansion of the King Power Stadium, increasing its seating capacity from 32,000 to a stunning 52,000.

The expansion project, valued at an estimated $200 million, is expected to commence in early 2026, marking a new era of growth and ambition for the Foxes both on and off the pitch. According to the club’s official statement, the redevelopment will not only enhance the matchday experience but also include a series of modern facilities designed to boost community engagement, commercial opportunities, and Leicester’s international brand.

    A Vision for the Future

Chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha described the announcement as “a defining moment in Leicester City’s journey,” reflecting the club’s long-term vision of progress and sustainability.

    > “This project is about more than just expanding capacity; it’s about creating a lasting legacy for Leicester City, its supporters, and the community that stands behind us,” Srivaddhanaprabha said. “Our goal is to build a world-class stadium that reflects the passion and ambition of this football club.”

The expanded King Power Stadium will feature an entirely redeveloped East Stand, a new hotel, club museum, and state-of-the-art conference facilities, alongside enhanced hospitality areas and retail spaces. The project is also expected to create over 1,000 new jobs during the construction phase and provide a long-term economic boost to the city of Leicester.

    Enhancing the Matchday Experience

Club officials have emphasized that the expansion will be carried out in phases to minimize disruption during matchdays. Once completed, Leicester City will boast one of the largest and most modern stadiums outside the Premier League’s traditional “Big Six.” The redevelopment also aims to strengthen the club’s fan experience through improved accessibility, digital ticketing systems, upgraded seating, and expanded food and beverage options.

Supporters’ groups have widely welcomed the project, calling it a “historic leap forward” that aligns with the team’s ambitious sporting vision. The new stadium capacity is expected to meet increasing fan demand, especially after Leicester’s strong domestic and European performances in recent seasons.

A Symbol of Growth and Commitment

This expansion follows Leicester City’s remarkable rise over the past decade — from a Championship club to Premier League champions in 2016 and consistent top-flight contenders. The Srivaddhanaprabha family, who took ownership of the club in 2010, have consistently reinvested in both the team and its infrastructure, including the opening of the state-of-the-art Seagrave Training Complex in 2021.

As the Foxes prepare for another chapter in their storied history, the expansion of the King Power Stadium stands as a powerful symbol of Leicester City’s unwavering ambition and commitment to its fans. Construction is slated to begin following final planning approvals, with completion targeted for the 2028 season.

With this bold investment, Leicester City is set to redefine its future — not just as a club that shocked the world once, but as one building

    for sustained greatness.
