Brazil’s football fans were taken aback when Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti stated that there was no contract in place for him to lead the national team.
Since Tite quit the squad following their 2022 World Cup quarterfinal loss to Croatia in Qatar, Brazil has been without a head coach. Since then, Ramon Menezes, the coach of the Brazil under-20 team, has been in charge of the group in friendlies.
Many people have speculated that Carlo Ancelotti may leave Real Madrid to coach Brazil since Tite’s departure in 2022, particularly after the Spanish powerhouses won the UEFA Champions League in 2021–2022.
Ancelotti’s contract with Real Madrid expires at the conclusion of this season, and the team has not yet decided to extend it, despite his insistence that he won’t depart until the Spanish powerhouses decide to fire him.
This scenario has maintained the rumor that Ancelotti will take over as Brazil’s national team’s coach in 2024.
In the middle of this, Brazil’s national team under Ancelotti will compete in the Copa America in June 2024, as confirmed earlier this year by Ednaldo Rodrigues, head of the Brazilian Football Confederation.
Then, according to Rodrigues, Fernando Diniz will lead both the national senior teams for men and women until Ancelotti takes over in 2024.
“He’ll come and help Ancelotti adjust to life in Brazil,” Rodrigues stated, as cited by the BBC.
“His strategy is very similar to that of Ancelotti, the coach who will take over at Copa America.
“He is not our temporary head coach for the national team.”
But earlier today, Italian transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano tweeted that Ancelotti had stated on Radio 1 that he and Brazil had not reached an agreement. This was on October 13.
According to reports, the Italian strategist remarked, “Agreement with Brazil? It’s all about links and hearsay. As things stand at Real Madrid, I’m feeling great.
“We hope to maintain our current level of performance as we began our season with great success.”
