Juventus’s Betting Scandal: Nicolò Fagioli’s Agent Responds

    adminBy adminOctober 17, 2023No Comments2 Mins Read

Marco Giordano, the agent of Nicolò Fagioli, has expressed disagreement with the claims made by the midfieder’s father, Marco, regarding the agent’s and his agency Caa Stellar’s involvement in his son’s situation.

One of the Juventus players that is presently being investigated for breaking Italian betting laws is Nicolò Fagioli.

While Italian authorities have accused 24-year-old winger Nicolò Zaniolo of betting on football, Fagioli, a member of the national squad, has acknowledged that he has a gambling addiction.

In a statement released earlier today, October 16, his representative asserted that Fagioli had a history of gambling addiction prior to joining their agency.

The agent, who happens to be the son of former Lazio and Napoli striker Bruno, claims that after the 22-year-old defender registered with his agency, he gave the young player advice on how to deal with his addiction to betting, including how to “self-report” himself.

The agent told the newspaper Repubblica, “The father said nobody knew about it and blamed those defending the player’s interests.”

A few low-level agents complain about poor worldwide company management. All we can say is that when our client, Caa Stellar, signed on with us, he already had issues. We first advised him to seek treatment and self-report when it was almost summer.

As the betting controversy continues, Nicolò Fagioli is reportedly assisting the Italian FA and Turin city prosecutors.

The Italy international faces a 10- to 18-month football-related ban if proven guilty of the betting charges brought against him.

Sandro Tonali, an additional Italian footballer implicated in the betting scandal, has allegedly consented to “self-report” on his own.
