Wow” – BBC expert raises concerns about Leeds United’s worrying predictions ahead of important clash with Leicester City

    adminBy adminOctober 31, 2023No Comments2 Mins Read

Leeds United travel to Leicester City this weekend looking for something of an upset at the top of the table, with the Foxes sitting a whopping 14 points clear of third place.

Friday night sees Leeds resume their Championship season with their toughest test yet in an away visit to Leicester City, who have an unassailable lead at the top of the division right now.

14 games for the Foxes see them sit on a staggering 39 points, having won 13 of them, losing just once at home to Hull City.

It’s not at the stage of being must-win for Leeds in terms of the race for automatic promotion, given that there are two spots up for grabs and 96 points still available.

However, a win for the Foxes would put them 17 clear of Leeds in third after just 15 games, a huge gap that could quickly turn into a yawning chasm.

Former Leicester man Matt Piper believes that another win for Enzo Maresca’s men could do more than just extend their lead over Leeds, but do erious damage in the psychological battle too.

Piper is right. If Leeds lose this match, all of the sudden everyone in the Championship will be thinking that catching Leicester or even making it a contest is impossible.

At present, we look like the most likely side to break into the top two over either of the two clubs there, but a lot of work will have to be put in to make that possible.

A win at Leicester isn’t a must for us, because drawing away to promotion rivals is still a positive result.

Losing would be a tough blow as it also gives Ipswich to go 15 clear with their games in hand too.
