Report News: A professional players return to IS winning after win over Coventry….

Fleetwood Town’s development team ended a long winless run by claiming all three points at Coventry City on Tuesday afternoon at the CBS Arena.

Maleace Asamoah’s two goals and headers from Sam Fishburn and Mikey Lane were more than enough to help Matt Lawlor and co claim a valuable three points as they swept Coventry City away on their own turf.

Asamoah was on hand to help Fishburn open the scoring, and with the winger having troubled Coventry all afternoon on the right, when he had that space he knew exactly where to put the ball and that’s how the first goal came.

Fishburn – who joined Carlisle United in the summer – created space for himself in the box and headed the ball past Man City goalkeeper Luke Bell.

Asamoah thought he had doubled Town’s lead minutes before the break, but as the ball left his feet it appeared to be on goal, but Bell was able to put his finger on the ball.
the ball and volleyed it to Fleetwood.
    corner.

He scored the vital goal on 69 minutes, converting from 12 yards out to give his team the lead.
Just before his death, he scored three points for the away team after shooting into the top corner following an assist from Mikey Lane.

But that wasn’t all, substitute Lane came on after replacing Fishburn in the 75th minute, and the freshman headed the ball home from Pharrel Brown’s cross, sealing victory for young players Cods The home side had a goal themselves with few chances throughout the match, with first team player Callum O’Hare looking to score for the Sky Blues.

His 18-yard shot hit the post, but if it had hit the post it would not have counted because the linesman’s flag would have been raised on the other side.

O’Hare had another chance to equalize but his free kick went over the crossbar.

The Sky Blues tried to get back into the game and with two minutes remaining, Rylie Siddall fired wide of Donaghy’s goal from distance after great work from team-mate Evan Eghosa.
That didn’t happen for the home side on the day as Town won on the road.

Fleetwood Town’s next match is on Friday 10 November at Huddersfield Town in the Premier League Cup.
Details about this match will be announced in the near future.
Starting Towns (Lane, 75′), White, Brown.
