UPDATE: ESPN’s Dave McMenamin reported that the Lakers will waive Alex Fudge.

Via McMenamin: “The Los Angeles Lakers will waive Alex Fudge in order to sign Dylan Windler to a two-way contract, sources told ESPN. As @wojespnfirst reported, LAL is bringing in the 6-6 wing who has shot 37.8% from 3 in his G League career.”

On Friday evening, Dylan Windler had a sensational performance in the G League.

The 27-year-old put up 22 points, 33 rebounds, two assists and one steal while shooting 10/22 from the field.

On Saturday, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported that Windler will sign a two-way contract with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Via Wojnarowski: “G League G/F Dylan Windler has agreed on a two-way contract with the Los Angeles Lakers, Mark Bartelstein and Andy Shiffman of @PrioritySportstell ESPN. Windler had a 23-point, 33-rebound performance on Friday for the Knicks’ Westchester affiliate.”

Windler was initially the 26th pick in the 2019 NBA Draft (by the Cleveland Cavaliers) and is in his fourth season in the league.

He has career averages of 3.2 points and 2.3 rebounds per contest while shooting 41.6% from the field and 32.5% from the three-point range in 87 games.

As for the Lakers, they are the 11th seed in the Western Conference with a 17-19 record in their first 36 games.

They are in the middle of a four-game losing streak and are just 2-8 over their last ten games.

The Lakers will play their next game on Sunday when they host Russell Westbrook and the Los Angeles Clippers.
