Is Andy Reid retiring after the Super Bowl? Chiefs owner Clark Hunt weighs in
In a recent podcast appearance, Clark Hunt, the principal owner and CEO of the Kansas City Chiefs, shared his confidence in the team’s current coaching situation, particularly in regards to head coach Andy Reid. Despite Reid turning 66 in March and facing questions about his future, both he and Hunt seem to agree that retirement is not on the horizon for the seasoned coach.
During the 2024 Super Bowl media day, Reid expressed his readiness to continue coaching, citing advice from his parents who told him, “You’ll know when it’s time,” indicating that he feels ready to keep going. Hunt echoed this sentiment, stating:
“I have no sense from Andy that he’s ready to retire… He loves what he’s doing.” Hunt emphasized Reid’s enthusiasm for coaching quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his commitment to the team’s success, indicating his hope for Reid to remain as head coach for many more years.
