The Minnesota Vikings are in a privileged spot right now.
They have two first-round picks, so they could at least try to move up and get a franchise quarterback in the upcoming edition of the NFL Draft.
Nonetheless, they’re more than one piece away from being able to keep up with the rest of the NFC North Division, let alone competing at a high level.
That’s why sports analyst Kimberley Martin showed her concerns about what they could possibly do with their draft pick.
Talking on the Unsportsmanlike Radio show, she stated that the Vikings must go after a quarterback if they feel like they need one and manage to trade up, mainly because they don’t know when they’ll be back to the top-five or top-three in the NFL Draft.
That makes sense, as there aren’t that many non-quarterback players who could be worthy of a top-five selection right now, aside from Marvin Harrison Jr. or perhaps Joe Alt.
Trading up and not taking a quarterback would be hard to explain at this point for this regime.
However, if that were to be the case, chances are the Vikings would be looking at another high pick next season as well, as they might not fare very well with their current QB room.
The Vikings have one of the best playmakers in the game in the likes of Justin Jefferson, but even an elite wide receiver like him needs someone to find him on the field, and Sam Darnold might not be their guy for years to come.
