Regarding one of their primary objectives for the 2025 cycle, the Gators appear to be well ahead.
Hylton Stubbs, a four-star defensive back from Jacksonville (Fla.) Mandarin, has visited the University of Florida frequently since receiving an offer from the Florida Gators in January of last year. He has already made one trip to the Gators this year, and he returned on Thursday to witness the team’s first spring practice. At one time, he was supposed to be in town this coming Saturday, but a 7on7 competition forced him to come a few days early.
Since Stubbs has seen almost every aspect of the UF campus before, working with Will Harris, the new defensive backs coach, and seeing him in action was the main draw this time around.
Wilnerson Telemaque, a three-star defensive lineman at Opa Locka (Fla.) Monsignor Pace, received an offer from the Florida Gators after he visited the university for Junior Day in January. Although he was familiar with the UF program prior to his visit, Gerald Chatman, the defensive line coach, was a new acquaintance he made on the most recent outing. It was not long after Chatman became a member of the Gators staff that the two began spending time together. That excursion was the beginning of the bond, which has continued over the next few months.
“I believe our relationship has been going really well, and after his first week on the job, he made me an offer. Coach [Kali] James and I had a relationship before to him, but he transferred to Jackson State. However, I believe we have a great rapport with Coach Chatman. The team seems to be made up of many young men who have the potential to be productive as a collective.
