‘news now; détroit lions legend explain why hé will move out…

Jackson will miss his second consecutive game.

The Detroit Lions have ruled out Jonah Jackson heading into their Thanksgiving matchup with the Green Bay Packers.

Jackson will miss his second consecutive game and fifth overall, as he has dealt with injuries throughout the season. An ankle injury in Week 5 cost him three games, and a wrist injury suffered in the Lions’ Week 10 win has claimed the most recent two contests.

In his absence, the Lions are expected to once again turn to rookie Colby Sorsdal at left guard. Sorsdal would be making his third career start and second consecutive at the position.

Dan Campbell has expressed confidence in the William & Mary product, who was a tackle in college before sliding over after being drafted.

“Yeah, some good and then some that well — wasn’t as good as you would like. But that was his first time to start over there at left guard and I say this again, it’s not too big for him. I thought he fought in there,” Campbell said. “I know this, at the end of that game, he really, he played well, as really all those guys on offense did.

That was some of our best football we’ve played all year in the last four minutes of the game. We executed at a high level and he really did, he stepped up and that’s a lot of pressure for a rookie to go in there first time at left guard and game’s on the line and thought he played pretty good. So, look, it’s something to build off of on that side. We believe he’ll get better with more reps. We believe he’ll continue to grow. So, it’s good.”

The Lions have elevated offensive lineman Michael Schofield and defensive lineman Quinton Bohanna from the practice squad for Thursday’s game.

Schofield will be making his Lions’ debut, while Bohanna debuted last week with two tackles, one for loss against Chicago Sunday.
