Orlando, Florida — Due to a left knee effusion, which is a swelling in the joint, Lakers guard Gabe Vincent will be out for at least the next two weeks.

Report: Lakers' Vincent to undergo knee surgery, will miss 6-8 weeks | theScore.com

Vincent, who missed the Lakers’ victory against the Clippers on Wednesday, will likely miss at least the next seven games as the Lakers stated on Thursday night that he will be re-examined by team physicians in two weeks.

Before the victory over the Clippers, Coach Darvin Ham stated, “It’s something that happened after the last game.” “It just started to swell up on him a little bit on Tuesday, which was a day off.”

The Lakers host a three-game pre-Thanksgiving homestand from Nov. 19–22 after playing a road game against the Portland Trail Blazers on Nov. 17.

After suffering a lower back strain that kept him out of the last three preseason games, Vincent started the first four games for the Lakers as their main backup guard. In 28.3 minutes, he averaged three assists, six points (on 39.3% shooting), and one steal.

In the victory over the Clippers, second-year guard Max Christie made his debut in the starting lineup due to Vincent’s injury.

Vincent adds his name to the Lakers’ expanding list of injuries: Moving forward Jarred Vanderbilt is anticipated to undergo another evaluation next week. He hasn’t played since the preseason opener against the Golden State Warriors on October 7 due to left heel bursitis (inflammation).
