Golden State Warriors assistant coach Dejan Milojevic died Wednesday after suffering a heart attack at dinner  in Salt Lake City, officials announced.  Wednesday’s Warriors vs.  Utah Jazz game scheduled for 7 p.m.  MT  at  Delta Center The team said Milojevic, 46, was hospitalized Tuesday night after “having an emergency at a private team dinner. ” It was postponed shortly after it was announced.  He suffered a heart attack and died late Wednesday morning, the team announced.  “We are completely devastated by Dejan Milojevic’s sudden pass,” Warriors coach Steve Kerr said in a team statement.  “This is a shocking and tragic blow to everyone associated with the Warriors, his family, friends and all of us who had the incredible pleasure of working with him.  It was an incredibly difficult time. ” Kerr said Milojevic was a tireless optimist.  You brought joy to others every day.  “Dejan is not only a great basketball coach, he is one of the most positive and beautiful people I have ever known, and he brings joy and light to every  day with his passion and energy. ” He was a person,” Carr said.  “We mourn with  his wife Natasa and their children Nikola and Masa.  Their loss is unimaginable. ” Milojevic spent his career as a coach and player in Europe.  He was appointed in 2021.  Milojevic, a 6-foot-2 Belgrade native known to the Warriors as “Coach Decky,” was tasked with working with Golden State’s centers and power forwards.  “He’s been very valuable to me,” Kerr said last year.  “It was great to watch Decky grow as a coach as he became familiar with the language, culture and our group. ” The boys love him.  The players love him. ” Milojevic is credited with helping develop Warriors center Kevon Looney.  On a team with flashy wing players like Stephen Curry, Milojevic’s protégé Looney may have been the difference in Golden State’s 2022 NBA title.   When losing, the Warriors outscored the Boston Celtics by 48 points.  This was the highest plus/minus rating of any player in the series.  Last year, Looney  said Milojevic was particularly good at identifying small things that could be improved, especially in offensive rebounding and scoring near the rim.  “I think those details took me to the next level,” he said.  “Our team prides itself on open communication and making our workplace a great place to work,” Kerr said.  “Decky embodies all of that,” he said.  “He loves the game.  he loves people He loves to laugh and  brings  joy and infectious positivity to our daily meetings.  The Warriors’ next  game on the schedule is Friday in San Francisco against the Dallas Mavericks.  Wednesday night’s postponed game against the Jazz will be rescheduled
