As has been reported in France by Footmercato, the Rossoneri are aware that they have a very talented player on their hands and they want to ensure that he is not poached by another team.

His current deal will run out at the end of this season so the club want to secure his future. He is a player who has already trained with the first team on occasion and he is a contender to be brought into the mix in the near future.

For that reason, it is in his interest to stay with the club and continue this positive track of development that has seen him score against Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Youth League.

The 19-year-old will soon be attracting attention from other clubs, so time is of the essence.

‘I am ready’: 22-year-old suggests he’s willing to leave, after being linked with Leeds United move

Leeds United target Matt O’Riley has claimed he now feels ‘ready’ to take the next step in his career.

Celtic midfielder O’Riley was speaking in an interview with Tipsbladet ahead of representing Denmark on international duty, where he was asked about his future following his excellent start to the season.

Leeds were heavily keen on signing O’Riley in the summer and according to Sky Sports, even made an offer of £10 million, which was swiftly rejected by Celtic.

O’Riley ended up staying in Scotland despite interest from Leeds and as recently as September 30, put pen-to-paper on a new four-year deal at Celtic.

The 22-year-old has been rewarded for his fine start to the season, scoring six goals and providing five assists in 12 league matches. He has also picked up a couple of assists in the Champions League.

Leeds target O’Riley says he is ready for next step

Clubs beyond that of Leeds are now said to be targeting a move for O’Riley ahead of January, with TeamTalk reporting Tottenham Hotspur and Brighton are among the clubs keen.

Speaking on that speculation and his future at Celtic, O’Riley admitted that he is now ready to take the next step, despite only signing a new deal six weeks ago.

He said: “I have played in the Champions League against many good teams, and I feel I am ready (to take the next step), but I am already playing for a good team. It’s hard to say what is going to happen.”

Celtic’s Champions League campaign is all but over for another year after picking up just one point from four matches, but it is likely he will pick up another Scottish Premiership title.

With that in mind, it feels unlikely that Celtic would sell him in January despite interest from elsewhere, which could actually be a good thing for Leeds.

Leeds have little to no chance of signing him while they are in the Championship, and so if they were to get promoted, they could then offer him Premier League football, and offer him that next step.
