Cowboys Trade Rumors: Hunter Renfrow, WR for the Raiders, to Dallas?
The new NFL league year begins on March 13 and the Dallas Cowboys have been linked to a number of free-agent targets and even some trade possibilities as well.
One such trade proposal involves adding depth at wide receiver.
Michael Gallup has a two-year deal with the Cowboys, while wideout CeeDee Lamb is signed for one more season (pending his upcoming extension). Dallas added two blank years through 2026 to open up cap room after acquiring Brandin Cooks in a trade during the previous summer.
Disgruntled wide receiver Hunter Renfrow of the Las Vegas Raiders, who has reportedly lost favor with his team, is the subject of SB Nation’s proposed trade. As a result, Renfrow might be acquired for a low price.
Falling out of favor with the Raiders coaching staff, Renfrow played just 35% of the offensive snaps and set career-lows in all important statistics, SB Nation reported on February 17. Nothing changed for Renfrow even when interim coach Antonio Pierce took onboard.
“Renfrow’s salary for the upcoming season is $13.7 million, but it’s reasonable to believe that the Raiders would be willing to pay a portion of that number in order to facilitate a trade. Given how often the Cowboys and Raiders have worked out agreements in the past, it wouldn’t be shocking if they both agreed.
