Miami Heat star Tyler Herro suffered an injury during Wednesday night’s game vs. the Memphis Grizzlies,
training his right ankle which ruled him out for the remainder of the contest. The Heat announced that Herro would not return, labeling the injury a right ankle sprain, but that was the extent of their report.
While it’s still very early into the season, Herro looked to be taking that next step for Miami. A rising star the last few seasons, Herro was averaging a career high 25.3 PPG through seven contests. While the severity of this injury is currently unknown, it will be a big blow for Miami if Herro is forced to miss any extended time.
Ankle sprains can certainly vary in terms of how long they sideline players for. If it’s mild, there’s a chance Herro will only have to miss a short amount of time, if any at all. If the sprain is more severe, then he could be looking at a big chunk of games missed. For now, everyone in Miami is hoping for the best for the star guard.
As previously mentioned, the extent of Miami’s report is that Herro sprained his ankle and will not return. An additional update could come after the game once Herro has been evaluated by the team’s medical staff, but for now there is not much info.
