Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise is still a transfer target for fellow Premier League club Chelsea despite the star signing a new contract.
Olise was the talk of the summer transfer window as Chelsea were very keen on him and they it was believed that they had paid his release clause.
With many Palace fans believing the player was gone, a crazy set of events saw Olise sign a new contract at the club. It was great and also completely out of the blue.
It looks like this specific transfer saga isn’t over, with journalist Simon Phillips reporting a new update on the player.
Apparently, Chelsea still want to sign the France U21 star and are planning a new move in the 2024 summer transfer window.
The winger is a great player and has been a quality signing for the Eagles. It was no shock to see him attract interest in the summer.
It is also no shock to see Chelsea continue to be interested in Olise. He is a top player and has a very high ceiling.
The £100k-a-week Palace star managed 11 assists in the Premier League last season and this was the fourth most in the division.
Olise being able to compete with the very best at creating goals despite only being 21 years-old emphasises that he will end up playing for a top club.
He finally returned from a long-term injury before the international break and he should hopefully start the match vs Luton on the weekend.
Olise already decided to stay at the Eagles over Chelsea in the summer so perhaps he is waiting for a bigger club to come in for him. No matter what, Palace managed to pick up an amazing signing and he will no doubt be sold for a lot of profit.
