Lakers Injury Report: Denver Waits While Los Angeles Starter Is Downgraded
The starting point guard for the Los Angeles Lakers, D’Angelo Russell, may have to miss tonight’s game against the visiting 36-16 Denver Nuggets, only a few days after getting some sort of mysterious injury treatment.
Due to a painful left knee, the 6’3″ veteran from OSU has had his health status downgraded to just doubtful for the 27-25 Lakers’ attempt to defend homecourt against the defending champs, according to The Athletic’s Jovan Buha.
Head coach Darvin Ham has a couple choices in case Russell is unable to play.
As he has done with starting power forward LeBron James and nominal starting shooting guard Austin Reaves, he might move a larger starter with good ballhandling skills into a lead guard role. Gabe Vincent, D-Lo’s purported backup, is likewise unavailable.
