Kaizer Chiefs’ director, Motaung Jr, has responded to recent allegations that several Premier Soccer League (PSL) clubs are actively preventing the Glamour Boys from functioning smoothly, addressing concerns surrounding interference and the challenges faced by the club in its operations. The allegations came to light following a series of on-field and off-field issues the club has been grappling with, with many questioning whether external factors are playing a role in their struggles.
In his response, Motaung Jr denied the claims and firmly stated that Kaizer Chiefs remains focused on their goals for the current season. He emphasized that the club’s operations are being conducted with full autonomy, and while challenges may arise, they are not a result of any deliberate efforts from rival PSL teams. “At Kaizer Chiefs, we remain focused on our mission and vision for the future. Critics pointed out that Chiefs’ difficulties in securing certain players and the controversial decisions surrounding their matches could be a result of external pressures aimed at stalling their progress.
Motaung Jr’s response was measured and clear, as he made it clear that while Kaizer Chiefs faces inevitable challenges, they are committed to working through them without resorting to conspiracy theories. “We acknowledge that in a competitive environment like the PSL, there will be times when things don’t go according to plan, but this is not an indication that other clubs are working against us.
