City injury news from CoventryLive as we look at the latest state of play regarding Mark Robins’ absent players and when they’re likely to return as the Sky Blues head into the international break Coventry City boss Mark Robins is close to having a fully fit squad for the first time this season with just two senior players now currently out of first team action, and their returns not too far away.
The Sky Blues’ manager has been boosted by the much anticipated recovery of star midfielder Callum O’Hare in recent weeks, with the 25-year-old coming off the bench in the last four matches as he works towards his first start since Boxing Day last year.
Meanwhile, midfielder Liam Kelly was back in the matchday squad against Stoke at the weekend, albeit an unused sub, after recovering from a hamstring strain that sidelined him for six games.
However, injuries are an occupational hazard and the next casualty is never too far away.
There was also illness in the camp last week while Kyle McFadzean has had time off for compassionate leave following the loss of his mother last week.
Below is a list of Man City’s injuries and absences and when they are expected to return.
The playmaker and one of the team’s most creative players suffered a similar muscle injury to Ben Sheaf, who was said to have played a part in the 3-2 defeat to Cardiff City on September.
Ruled out with an initial prediction of six to eight weeks, Palmer has been sidelined for nine long-term matches to date.
There is some good news however, Robins revealed: “He’ll be back after the international break and will probably train all week before the Millwall game.
    We’re delighted about that .
Fortunately, he has now turned a corner.
We can expect him to progress quite quickly now.
“ The resilient midfielder was heartbroken last week by the passing of his mother and he understandably had to take time off to being with family, missed Saturday’s goalless draw with Stoke the defender should be given as much leave as he wants The young striker ruptured his Achilles tendon in early January in the FA Cup defeat against Wrexham and his expected return is late September/early October.
Tavares has been back on the field for a month and is currently taking part in some training with the first team.
Robins said: “Fabio is getting there.
He is on the pitch and he will be fully involved after this international break.
