QB Jalen Hurts’ have finally agreed to trade with 46ers over $25.7m according to…..
Saquon Barkley is joining his former NFC rival Philadelphia Eagles after spending his first six years with the New York Giants, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Monday.
He signed a three-year, $37.75 million contract potentially worth up to $46.75 million with $26 million guaranteed at signing. His $15.833 million-per-year average would be the second highest among running backs in NFL history.
While Barkley’s career has been marred by injuries, the 27-year-old has shown potential that he can be the best running back in the league when healthy. He had 2,028 total yards on his way to an Offensive Rookie of the Year honors in 2018 and has had two other seasons where he rushed for more than 1,000 yards.
He had 962 rushing yards in 2023—a season where he likely would have surpassed 1,000 rushing yards had it not been for a high ankle sprain that sidelined him for three games. If Barkley can stay healthy in 2024, he will make the Eagles’ offense one of the most exciting in the league.
Barkley now teams up with quarterback Jalen Hurts, who is coming off a season where he threw for 3,858 yards and 23 touchdowns to 15 interceptions. Barkley’s new team could make him a player to watch for in fantasy football this year.
