Man charged with murder after body was found in a Mason County home; victim identified
MASON COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ)- A man has been charged in connection with a homicide investigation in Mason County, where officials found a body inside a home.
Ryan Marshall was charged with first-degree murder amongst other charges, according to Mason County Sheriff Corey Miller.
Deputies said investigators were called to do a well-being check around 1 p.m. Friday on Belle Road when they found a body inside a home.
MASON COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ)- The name of the victim whose body was found inside of a Mason County home, has now been released.
The victim was identified as Sara Smith, 54, of Point Pleasant, according to Mason County Prosecuting Attorney Seth Gaskins.

The suspect was taken into custody in Point Pleasant, deputies say.
Deputies say investigators were called to do a well-being check around 1 p.m. Friday on Belle Road when they found a body inside a home.
The case is being jointly investigated by the Sheriff’s Office and West Virginia State Police. The Point Pleasant Police Department assisted with the arrest.
