The Indiana Pacers’ worst worries have materialized.
According to someone with knowledge of the injury, star point guard Tyrese Haliburton tore his right Achilles tendon in the first quarter of Game 7 of the NBA Finals. Because they lacked the authority to discuss the subject in public, the individual spoke under the protection of anonymity.

The full extent of Haliburton’s injury was initially revealed by ESPN.
This means that the Pacers must get ready for the possibility of not having Haliburton for an extended period, maybe even the whole 2025–26 season.

With 18.6 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 9.2 assists on average this season, Haliburton ranked third in the NBA. In addition, he had the best assist-to-turnover ratio in the league (5.61).
Latest updates on the Indiana Pacers, including their schedule, roster, statistics, injuries, and other team-related news.
In one of the most crucial stretches of postseason history, he made game-winning or game-tying baskets in each of Indiana’s four postseason series.

This makes it more difficult for Indiana to get back to the NBA Finals.
The possibility of a severe injury to Haliburton became clear right away. Haliburton’s emotional response after falling to the court indicated the seriousness of the non-contact injury; he repeatedly screamed “no,” slapped the ground, and seemed to shake his head.

Haliburton had nine points in only 7:05 of action before he was hurt.
With Haliburton not supporting any weight on the wounded leg, personnel helped him off the ground after he had received medical treatment for a few minutes. With a towel covering his head, he entered the locker room.

The Pacers must now get ready for the possibility that they will be without Haliburton for an extended period of time, maybe even the whole 2025–26 campaign.
Haliburton averaged 18.6 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 9.2 assists this season, ranking third in the NBA. In addition, his assist-to-turnover rate (5.61) was the highest in the league.

The Indiana Pacers’ Tyrese Haliburton is helped off the court at Paycom Center following an apparent injury in the first half of Game 7 against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Haliburton greeted his teammates outside the Pacers locker room on crutches after the game as the players made their way back inside.
Backup point guard T.J. McConnell said after the game, “He constantly set his ego aside, and that’s who he is as a person, a teammate.” After an event like that, he may have been in the locker room feeling bad for himself, but he wasn’t. He greeted us while standing. He was up there comforting us because many of us were suffering from the loss. Tyrese Haliburton is that man. He’s simply the best, bro.
