Ty Simpson Quarterback has announce to leave with the following reasons
Alabama replaced its starting quarterback before Saturday’s contest against South Florida. Less than two quarters into the contest, the Crimson Tide are making another change.
Ty Simpson was put in as the Crimson Tide’s starting quarterback for the team’s penultimate drive in the first half after Tyler Buchner failed to lead Alabama on any scoring drives against the Bulls.
Jalen Milroe, who came in for Bryce Young in a spot start last year for Alabama, was named the starter to begin the 2023 season, edging out Buchner who followed offensive coordinator Tommy Rees from Notre Dame to Alabama. Milroe was sloppy in the worst home loss of Nick Saban’s Alabama career, throwing a pair of costly interceptions and completing just over 50 percent of his passes in the 34-24 defeat to Texas.
Buchner was supposed to provide a high floor for the Crimson Tide given his established connection with Rees from their time with the Fighting Irish, but against an overmatched South Florida team, Buchner was dreadful, completing only 5-of-14 passes for 34 yards while rushing twice for 11 yards. With Buchner under center, the Crimson Tide were shut out, trailing South Florida 3-0 since the Bulls’ second drive of the game.
