Michigan wide receiver Semaj Morgan is making the most of his opportunities as a true freshman. Through nine weeks, Morgan is No. 6 on the team in receptions (12), No. 6 in reception yards (155), and No. 3 in reception touchdowns (2). Morgan also ranks No. 6 in total yards, No. 4 in yards per touch (14.5), and No. 4 in total touchdowns

There’s no doubt that Michigan could use the extra boost from Morgan down the stretch, as the Wolverines are about to enter the toughest part of their 2023 schedule (by far). Michigan’s three remaining regular season games include back-to-back away games at No. 9 Penn State and Maryland, before returning back home for the final game of the regular season against No. 1 Ohio State.
On Saturday night, the freshman standout added another career-first as a Wolverine – his first rushing touchdown. His 44-yard rushing TD is the second longest gain on the ground of any Michigan player this season, second only to Blake Corum’s 54-yard run against Bowling Green.
Following the game, senior wide receiver Roman Wilson offered some pretty high praise for the freshman wideout.

I’m so proud of that guy,” Roman said. “That’s a guy who comes here, and he has the only mindset of coming in here trying to achieve greatness. This guy comes in…best attitude I’ve ever seen in a person, the best work ethic. He comes to me for answers and asks me questions that, even when I was his age, I didn’t ask older guys. He really wants to be great. To see him come in here and make plays, it’s just another blessing to be around this guy. I’m so excited to see what he’s going to do the rest of this year and next season.”
