Why Kentucky signed: “Being here today and being a part of one of the biggest programs in the country feels so surreal. Knowing that I’m at home, I’ve been watching YouTube and basketball on YouTube. This school here was first. one I watched when I started playing basketball .And now I’m one of their players. This feeling I can’t explain. I’m just thankful for this moment. I know I’m ready for it. It was not given to me for free. I deserved it.” Coach Cal: “Somto is a great kid with an incredible story. He fell in love with basketball watching YouTube and Anthony Davis highlights. He made it his goal to attend Kentucky and accomplished that goal by being an excellent athlete, shot blocker and rebounder. We are delighted that he will be joining us next year.
