Breaking news toady :Swindon Town U18s cruised to a victory in the Youth Alliance league after “……..

It was Botan Ameen who opened the scoring for Town with a 35-yard screamer before goals from Fletcher Hubbard and Joel McGregor extended the Swindon’s lead before half-time.

It would be two more goals from Joel McGregor to complete his hat-trick in the second half, coupled with a late goal from Alistair Stewart that would complete Town’s rout on Saturday afternoon.

It would be an instant goal-scoring start for Town as the Exeter City goalkeeper would come out to clear the ball but only as far as Ameen who makes no mistake from 35 yards out with a cool finish into the open net.

Moments later Joel McGregor would extend Town’s lead with a great volley, after making a great run in behind and catching an over-the-top ball perfectly to finish confidently.

Swindon Town U18s cruised to a victory in the Youth Alliance league after a 6-0 win against Exeter City U18s at The Royal Agricultural College in Cirencester.

It was Botan Ameen who opened the scoring for Town with a 35-yard screamer before goals from Fletcher Hubbard and Joel McGregor extended the Swindon’s lead before half-time.

Moments later Joel McGregor would extend Town’s lead with a great volley, after making a great run in behind and catching an over-the-top ball perfectly to finish confidently.

Ameen would soon look for his second as a dinked ball over the top of the Exeter defence found the tricky winger, whose powerful shot would crash back off the crossbar and leave Town hungry for more goals.

Swindon would then get the chance to extend their lead from the penalty spot after Fletcher Hubbard was brought down by an Exeter defender after a neat bit of trickery.

Hubbard won it and he also took it, as the winger kept his cool and calmly slotted the ball down the middle of the goal, and ended what was a resounding first 45 from Swindon.

Half Time: Swindon Town U18s 3-0 Exeter City U18s

The first piece of action in the second half would come to Exeter City as they worked a good bit of play to pull a shot off on goal but a brilliant block from Swindon defender Finn Adams would keep Town’s clean sheet intact.

Soon later Swindon would control the action again and another goal from McGregor would extend their lead as a well-worked free-kick routine would lead to a top-corner finish from the recent first-team debutant.

McGregor would soon after complete his hat-trick with a beautiful assist from captain Redman Evans over the top of the Exeter defence and allow the forward to utilise his pace and slot the ball into the bottom left with another confident finish.

The game’s last piece of action would be yet another goal from Swindon as Hubbard would whip in a corner and found its way to an onrushing Alistair Stewart who directed his powerful header with no problem and secured a 6-0 win in Swindon’s latest league test last weekend.

Swindon Town U18s will now be looking forward to their next challenge this coming weekend against Portsmouth U18s, as attention changes to league cup action instead as they look to overcome a team that were narrowly defeated by in the league earlier this season.
