Alabama Football’s Kalen DeBoer Tops Bad List for Job Security.

It might not mean much once the ball is kicked off on the 2025 season in a little more than eight months. However, for Kalen DeBoer and Alabama football, seeing the coach wrapped up in rumors about how long he might last in Tuscaloosa does little to help the efforts to rebuild the program after a disappointing 9-4 finish.

DeBoer and the Tide just missed out on the College Football Playoff and closed the year with a bummer of a loss to Michigan in the ReliaQuest Bowl. In the meantime, DeBoer has been trying to stem losses via the transfer portal while trying to bring in his own

transfers and build his recruiting classes.

So any insinuation that he might not last long after Alabama had Nick Saban in place for 17 seasons is damaging and poorly timed.

Alabama has had 31 players transfer out and 14 transfer in, per On3 Sports.

On Monday, ESPN put out its first look at college coaches potentially on the hot seat in 2025, and author Adam Rittenberg featured DeBoer prominently.
