The incident occurred around 4:25 a.m. on Interstate 65 near Montgomery. Stone was a passenger in a 2021 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van returning to Atlanta after a performance in Mobile, Alabama. The van overturned and was subsequently struck by a 2021 Freightliner Cascadia truck.
