SOPHIE RAWORTH’s husband of 18 years is the only man to have ever dumped the BBC broadcaster, unearthed accounts show.
Ms Raworth will present BBC One’s flagship politics programme Sunday Morning from 9am this morning. She was announced as the interim presenter of the show in December after Andrew Marr’s decision to leave the BBC.
He had worked for the broadcaster for two decades. Ms Raworth has covered for Mr Marr on a number of occasions in the past, while she is one of the main presenters on BBC News At Six and Ten.
In a statement, the BBC said she would head the popular Sunday morning programme for a “short period” while a recruitment process for Mr Marr’s permanent successor took place.
Then, the programme will be re-launched with a new presenter, title and look.
Away from broadcasting, Ms Raworth is married to Richard Winter who works in property. The couple have three children together.
After dating for a year, the pair married in London in 2003 and reportedly had their honeymoon in South Africa.
