Wide Darius Slayton was signed to a two-year, $12 million contract this past March, an agreement that was laden with incentive bonuses. As the 2023 season gets ready to sunset, several of those incentives are close to being achieved and could add up to a total of $2.5 million.
Slayton is about to surpass incentives in receiving yards and catches.
Slayton is five catches short of the 50-59 catch threshold, which will award him $100,000. Additionally, he will receive $100,000 if he finishes with 750–874 yards; he is currently 42 yards short of that total. This season, Slayton is averaging 2.8 catches and 44.3 yards per game.
Because Slayton has an escalator deal, any incentives he receives this year will translate into an equal raise in his roster bonus in 2024. Slayton’s bonus for being on the 90-man roster on the fifth day of the 2024 league year will rise from $2.4 million to $2.6 million if he receives $200,000 in incentives this season.
