Latrell Mitchell injury updates: Will South Sydney Rabbitohs fullback return to play this season?.
South Sydney have confirmed that Latrell Mitchell will not play any further part to play in their season after the star suffered a foot injury.
The fullback picked up the issue during his side’s Round 18 victory over Parramatta before their late-season revival ground to a halt in the absence of their No.1.
Mitchell’s injury came as a major blow to the Bunnies and also saw him miss out on the State of Origin decider where New South Wales toppled Queensland in their own backyard to claim the shield for the first time in three years.
The initial assessment was Mitchell would miss a month after avoiding surgery, however hopes of a return to action were eventually ended.

“Mitchell has been really positive since succumbing to the foot injury he sustained against the Eels,” the club noted ahead of their Round 21 meeting with Canberra.
“He gets another scan (on Monday) to check on the widening and severity of the ligament damage. The club will know more once he’s met with the specialist, post-scan.”
