Superstar’ Tottenham player could start for the first time this season vs Wolves today

    adminBy adminNovember 11, 2023No Comments2 Mins Read

An injury-hit Tottenham Hotspur side take on Wolves in the Premier League today, and Bryan Gil could make his first start of the season under Ange Postecoglou.

Spurs will go into the game today without James Maddison, Micky van de Ven, Destiny Udogie and Cristian Romero, which means Postecoglou will have to make plenty of changes. We think he could unleash Gil on the right flank.

James Maddison’s absence is a massive blow for Spurs. The Englishman has been one of their best players this season, and with him unavailable, there is a huge void in that number 10 role.

Postecoglou has a couple of options in that position, but we think Dejan Kulusevski will be the number 10 today, which means there will be a spot open on the right flank.

Brennan Johnson could get the nod there, but there’s also a chance to see Bryan Gil start for the first time this season.

The 22-year-old, branded as a ‘superstar‘ by Graham Roberts, has only played one minute of football all campaign due to injury, but he is fit now and ready to step up if called upon.

Gil on the right flank and Kulusevski as a number 10 will make Tottenham’s attack much more unpredictable, as the two left-footed players can swap positions in-game.

Tottenham signed Bryan Gil over two years ago, but he still hasn’t been able to show his quality.

That’s because neither Nuno Espirito Santo nor Antonio Conte really fancied him in the last two seasons, but things could be very different under Postecoglou.

The Spurs boss’ attacking system suits Gil much more than what he had to go through under Santo and Conte. That could really help him thrive in this Tottenham side.

It will be interesting to see what will happen today, but we think Gil deserves a go on the right flank.
