WVU player Josiah Harris would be leaving emmidetly
There’s been a lot of unfortunate news that has come out from the WVU men’s basketball program over the course of the last two months with the off-court incidents with Bob Huggins, a coaching change being made, and players leaving via the portal.
But despite all of the unfortunate series of events, there is one thing Mountaineer fans should celebrate and that’s soon-to-be sophomore Josiah Harris.
Harris took to Twitter not to announce his commitment to the basketball program or that he would be entering the portal but that he has applied for graduation…after one year in Morgantown.
Harris will be graduating with a bachelor’s degree in communication this December. This shows incredible commitment to excellence in the classroom and is almost unheard of to be walking the stage at just 19-years-old.
This past season as a true freshman, the Canton, Ohio native appeared in 17 games and converted 10-of-28 shots from the field, including 5-of-16 from three-point range. He also totaled 15 rebounds, four steals, and two assists. His season-high was eight points against Texas.
Assuming Harris remains with West Virginia, which appears to be the case, he’ll be in line for a significant bump in minutes at the wing position.
