Latest holiday figures show Britons are now more likely to take a trip to the Fylde Coast than head to the crowded holiday destination to soak up the Spanish sunshine.
According to hotel search site Trivago,
more and more people are choosing places to stay as prices skyrocket.
Their CEO, Johannes Thomas, said they noticed that hotel bookings from July to the end of the year were being taken up by domestic destinations.
Although many people enjoy the warm weather and a dip in the pool, many Britons would rather spend a week in Blackpool than Benidorm.
Since the 1950s, many people have flown into Alicante and hit the Strip to enjoy full breakfasts, dip in the pool and get drunk.
