Reflecting on the contemporary landscape of the sport, Taylor expressed doubt about his ability to navigate the game’s current regulations under the watchful eye of Commissioner Roger Goodell.
In a candid discussion on Tom Brady‘s Let’s Go! podcast, Taylor, a Hall of Fame linebacker, reminisced about the bygone era when he was known for his bone-crushing hits and imposing physical presence on the field.
He mused that the stringent fines imposed by Goodell for hits that once defined his playing style would likely prevent him from completing a game in today’s NFL.
“I don’t think I could finish a game nowadays,” Taylor told the Let’s Go! Podcast.
“The game has changed a little bit, you know? Just a couple weeks ago I saw a running back get fined for trucking. What the hell is trucking? He got fined for running over the [defensive back]. I don’t understand that.
“The game has changed a little bit. I like the era that I played in”
The conversation touched on a recent controversial call involving a sideline hit on Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes. Both Taylor and Brady highlighted the evolving nature of the league, with quarterbacks now facing penalties for defenders’ hits, even when the play is hotly contested, as Mahomes fought for a first down without stepping out of bounds.
Brady emphasized the importance of quarterbacks learning to read defenses and swiftly releasing the ball for self-preservation. He acknowledged that even during his playing days, evading a sack from someone of Taylor’s caliber required quick decision-making and efficient ball distribution.

Veronika Rajek stole the show on Instagram on Tuesday, posting a picture of herself showcasing a brand-new look, and one which could well catch the eye of Travis Kelce.
Kelce is currently one of the world’s most in-demand celebrities ever since he started dating Taylor Swift, although this won’t stop some people shooting their shot with the Kansas City Chiefs tight end.

In the striking image, Rajek is pictured wearing a staggeringly low-cut black top, driving attention to the shimmering gold Star of David necklace around her neck.

The plunging neckline highlighted the curvaceous nature of her breasts, albeit the drastic change in hair color was what most fans noticed.
